Mission: To break the chain of recidivism by educating, employing, and empowering through tailored cognitive and relationship education intensive pre-release and post-release programs.

Developed and implemented by 2CU, we equip and empower individuals with a criminal past to become excellent employees. This is, in part, achieved by identifying and altering traits, behaviors, and attitudes necessary for success not only during the job search process, but also after a job offer has been accepted.

Situation: The direct cost of incarceration exceeds $30k annually per inmate while the indirect cost of incarceration far exceeds monetary measurement. When it comes to safety, breaking the chains of recidivism, and human dignity, the benefits are priceless.

Task: Decrease recidivism, strengthen communities, solidify the family unit, and guide the disenfranchised to a successful transition by clearing a path to mastery lasting the individuals lifetime, and generations to come by educating, employing, and empowering.

In January of 2013, 2CU, Christian HELP, and The Central Florida Jobs Initiative launched an intensive program to educate, employ, and empower the disenfranchised. This 6 class curriculum is unique in the approach it takes to equip participants to become excellent employers by focusing on changing the attitudes, habits, and behaviors keeping them from being successful.

Endorsed by the United Way, Wal-Mart Foundation, Wells Fargo, Back of America, and JP Morgan Chase, UCF, and Workforce Central Florida, the program features volunteers from many companies including Manpower and Frontier Communications.

Result: What began in 2012 for a local non-profit organization, 2CUs  program has grown to three locations and is set to expand due to the ease of replication, affordability,  and bottom-line results. With a two-year graduate gainful employment over 70%, our turn-key and multi-platform programs are suited for individual as well as workshop environments, inside or outside prison or jail walls.
