Yesterday I was invited by CareerSource, Ocoee, to share programs offered by Veterans Stand Together and 2nd Chance University.
Mr. Karl Allen, CWDP, Career Services Manager had a room full folks eager to know more about the programs geared toward our military veterans as well as our justice involved. Throughout the meeting the importance of working together to make positive change was addressed.
We all need to pitch in to create a community where everyone is offered the opportunity to succeed.
Veterans Stand Together
Veterans Stand Together was created by veterans to empower veterans as well as the communities they serve. Their mission to help in the fight against homelessness, PTSD, and Substance abuse by directing the individual being serviced into positive outcomes and preventive measures is being introduced to Central Florida. No doubt their impact on so many deserving people will be welcomed.
2nd Chance University
2nd Chance University is committed to eliminating recidivism and offers transitional programs to secure that goal. 2CU partnered with HVAC Technical Academy to bring career options for all, veterans, the justice involved, the disenfranchised, and those seeking a different path.
Changing Lives
With the help of our community, like-minded organizations, CareerSource Central Florida, and YOU, many lives can be changed.
Two weeks from now I will be visiting the CareerSource Leesburg office sharing information. On this note, if you know of any organizations or institutions looking to educate, empower, and employ our veterans and/or the justice involved, let’s talk.
I encourage you to visit our websites for more information.
