We’ve reviewed just a couple details about a Heat Pump System, now it’s time to discuss thermostat control and efficiency.

Heat Pump Control and Efficiency

  • Thermostat Control: Heat pump systems are controlled by a thermostat, allowing users to set the desired indoor temperature. The thermostat turns on the heat pump’s compressor and fan as needed to maintain the set temperature, whether in heating or cooling mode.
  • Efficiency: Heat pumps are known for their energy efficiency, especially in moderate climates. By transferring heat rather than generating it through combustion, heat pumps can provide heating at a fraction of the energy cost of traditional furnaces. However, their efficiency may decrease in very cold climates, as there’s less heat available in the outdoor air for extraction.
