Today students delved deeply into package unit basics. Taking readings, pressures, and performing a full preventive maintenance was conducted by all.
Package Unit Maintenance
The day began with a quick Universal 608 EPA review and handout but quickly turned attention to hands-on activities. One of the benefits of HVAC Technical Academy is the facility allows students to get down and dirty with in-use equipment such as:
- Package Unit
- Air Handler in an attic… fund during the heat of the afternoon
- Mini-splits
All equipment above is live, no copy cats here. In addition to the live in-use equipment, students work on multiple systems in our lab setting… throw in the amount of tear downs from a constant flow of equipment/part swaps, every day is an adventure.
In today’s photo, technicians are making sure this package unit is operating at maximum capacity. Knowing this system takes care of residents, pressure to do the right job in the right time is essential.
For those looking for maximum HVAC hands-on (beginning day one), HVAC Technical Academy is the easy choice.
